OK.......
YouTube... has gotten to be a big pain in the Axx.
They have Videos on there from 1 to 2 years ago with "full copyrighted songs".
They have NEVER pull them DOWN, or pulled the audio from THEM.
YET, when I posted a Video with "an almost full song", THEY take the audio out.
OH......... I sent them and EMAIL, but have not gotten a peep back.
And I have NO IDEA, if the 1 video is the ONLY one they did that to.

MY question.............
Does anyone know of a "different" place to put "game videos" ??
PS.... Be sure they are not "YouTube" affiliated.

You can try something like Myspace videos which has 2 main advantages, I found full length episodes on these videos plus you can expand far beyond 10 minutes.

Or you could make your own audio for you videos by making remizes of existing songs, with Audacy(a free audio editing program)

The reason why....

YouTube is partnered with WMG (Warner Music Group) which owns all music on major labels (Sony, EMI, Maverick, whatever) and are greedy pricks, like most big business. They have even begun suing people for illegally downloading music, and they take your videos down if they own the rights to the song in that video, because it allows people to download the video or stream the song, which defeats the purpose of buying music. Yes, mad with power.

There are several ways around this. Like John said, you could alter the song with Audacity or Garageband or whatnot, but this still might not work. You could make your own music with said programs too. Or, you could just use music which from bands which aren't signed to major labels (look them up on Wikipedia or whatever to check). These are usually lesser known or financially aware bands. There are some great bands who aren't major label affiliated, you just need to find them.

Yes, making a career in the music industry means you need to know this stuff XD. If you're looking for some non major label bands, here are some awesome ones .... Karnivool, Mammal, .hinge, Rook, Jericco, Horsell Common, SikTh, Dead Letter Circus, Birds of Tokyo, list goes on.

Also yes, they do have a lot of full length songs on YouTube. All you have to do is look at the views those videos have. Most users have many views on the videos of those songs.

It is strange, I put up a video with a song in the background and they muted it, but I've also put up three lyric videos and they didn't have a problem with them..they just added a copyright Sony thing to them and let them play, I even have a complete music video and I added the lyrics and they didn't have any problem with it...

My Lyrics Videos whic had not problem:
Sanctus Real - Alone

Slick Shoes - Your My Angel

Switchfoot - Dare You To Move (copyrighted by SONY Music Entertainment)
